Evan Winters arrives

Evan Winters arrives - 10/9/2015

So, it was over two and a half years ago that I started this webcomic. Early on in this project, I promised, “And make no mistake… there will be fiction coming soon!” (That’s not a real quote, but the spirit of the thing, anyway.) Then… two and a half years went by. My beard got whiter. I put on some extra pounds. Really, I basically became a whiskery Weeble. And did I ever come through with that fiction? No!

Until now…

There it is: “The Witch of Bracken’s Hollow,” by Evan Winters. Those of you with good memories might remember that Evan was the guy credited as the writer on the not-yet-released-but-not-abandoned comic book "Winters Tales" on which I was working for last year's comic convention. Evan is me. He's my horror fiction pen name. So this is my first novella. I am releasing it in a collection of novellas by a number of other indie writers called “The Witching Hour Collection.” We're writing about witches, don'tcha know? I had intended to do a longer, cooler promotion of this book, but time got away from me, so here we are: I have a book, and it is currently available. You can get it in e-book format at the above link. In another week or two, it will be made available in paperback. Ooh-la-la!

And there you have it. If you like weird tales and scary stories, please give my book a try. I hope you enjoy it. If you enjoy it, please tell your friends about it, and beyond that, please leave me a review on Amazon. Let me repeat that request: please review this book. Goodreads is one good place to do that, but Amazon reviews are gold. I am brand new to this world of independent publishing, but I have it on good authority that an indie book without a number of good reviews is just dead in the water. So if you enjoy this story, let Amazon know. It would mean a lot.

So this is it. The long-awaited fiction. I hope you enjoy it. For my next trick, I'll be figuring out how to return to my weekly comics while working on my next horror novel. So look for new comics soon, and if you don't get them, feel free to send me snippy emails about it, or maybe just talk bad about me to all your friends.

I hope you read my book. I hope you love it. I hope you all are having a fantastic October. Be well.
